Polypropylene / PVDF Piping
Asahi/America & Georg-Fischer
Description

Air-Pro™
The Air-Pro™ piping system is specifically constructed for compressed air. It has been extensively tested for safe operation in compressed air applications. Air-Pro™ offers a safe, reliable system with the many advantages of thermoplastic construction. These include: convenient light weight material; faster/lower installation cost; more flexible installation; minimal system pressure drop; and corrosion resistance. Air-Pro™ has been tested to meet the requirements of California OSHA for thermoplastics in compressed gas applications.

ProVent™
ProVent™ piping is specifically designed and manufactured for ventilation and exhaust systems that transport corrosive fumes. It is superior in performance to PVC, fiberglass and sheet metal systems due to its chemical resistance, mechanical properties, solid construction, and ease of installation. It is perfect for applications as diverse as water treatment facilities, electroplating shops, semiconductor wet stations, and pharmaceutical processing.

General Grade PVDF
Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) is a high molecular weight fluorocarbon that has superior abrasion resistance, dielectric properties and mechanical strength. These characteristics are maintained over a temperature range of -40º F (-40º C) to 250º F (121º C), with a limited usage range extended to 302º F (178º C). PVDF is highly resistant to wet or dry chlorine, bromine and other halogens, most strong acids, aliphatics, aromatics, alcohols and chlorinated solvents. PVDF is available from ½” (20mm) to 12″ (315mm). It has two pressure ratings. ½” – 10″ SDR 21 is rated at 230 psi and 3″ – 12″ SDR 33 is rated at 150 psi at 68° F.

Proline® (PP) Single Wall Piping System
Polypropylene (PP) is a member of the polyolefin family. PP is one of the lightest plastics known. It possesses excellent chemical resistance to many acids, alkalies and organic solvents. PP is one of the best materials to use for systems exposed to varying PH levels, as many plastics do not handle both acids and bases well. It is not recommended for use with hydrocarbons and aromatics. Its upper temperature limit is 195° (90° C). Proline™ is available in 150 psi and 45 psi standard. Options in 90 psi are available. Proline® is available from 3/8″ (16mm) to 54″ (1400mm).

Ultra Proline® (E-CTFE) Halar Single Wall Piping System
Ethylene Chlorotrifluoroethylene (E-CTFE) is commonly known by its trade name, HALAR®. E-CTFE is essentially a 1:1 alternating copolymer of ethylene and CTFE (chlorotrifluoroethylene). It contains about 80% CTFE, one of the most chemically resistant building blocks, which can be used to make a polymer. It is most likely the best material for handling high concentrations of sodium hypochlorite. Additionally, E-CTFE has good electrical properties and a broad-use temperature range from cryogenic to 300º F (150º C). Halar® is an excellent cost-saving substitute to PFA piping.
